Abstract
The concept of urban joints has emerged as one of the concepts that coincided with the growth of cities both in the planning and design levels. The subject is of great importance not only at the level of urban design, but that the concept overlaps in its importance with a number of conventional, which gives it several indicators of the mechanisms, features and functions that vary and overlap in each science separately, due to the lack of the ideas about the concept in urban studies, the research attempts to study the concept through its overlap with these sciences, to cover the concept in an integrated manner, the types, the impact and its particularities, to arrive at the definition of urban joints, the components and the causes (reasons) of its emergence in cities”, The joints have been classified into planning joints and urban joints.
