Abstract
In the off-shore structure, the lateral load, vertical load, and the overturning moment are very large compared to those found in onshore structures. Also, there is a frequently major cyclic component of both vertical and horizontal loads. In the present study, the numerical analysis has been carried out by using PLAXIS 2D. The analyses were carried out on single model pile under cyclic loading to determine the behavior of the pile. A single pile of embedment length to diameter ratio (L/D) of 16, 25 and 33 were located on the horizontal ground surface and slope angle of 1V:1.5, 1V:2H and 1V:3H was subjected to cyclic loading. From the analysis, the acceleration, displacement and bending moment of the pile under each case was studied. From the study, it is very clear that as L/D ratio increases, the acceleration, maximum displacement and bending moment are reduced.
