Abstract

This paper presents an energy and exergy analysis of different modes of operation of an absorption heat exchanger that is used as a component of central heating systems during the heating season. It is well known that replacement of traditional heaters with such kind of devices enables operation in such a mode when the temperature of the reverse water flow in the heat network is lower than that of the water supplied to consumers. The energy and exergy analysis of the operation of such kind of devices is based on a mathematical model for the entire cycle of operation developed by the authors. This paper also presents the results of computation of exergetic and heat balances for main components of an absorption heat exchanger for various temperatures of both heat transfer medium circulating in district (centralized) heat networks and heat transfer media circulating in systems (circuits) used for the supply of heat to consumers. Experiments have been carried out for the study of the operation of high-pressure components of an absorption heat exchanger using solutions with a low concentration of solutes. The results have been compared with those of mathematical simulation.
