Abstract
The Brah manical s ys tem of eduction is main ly a domes tic sys tem of education. A s tudent undergoes very rigid phys ical, mental and mora l dis cipline. It aims to convert the s tudent into a ‘full hu man being’ and train him effic iently to s houlder the res pons ibilit ies of the society. The Buddhis t educat ion concentrates , more, on s piritual tra ining. It is ma inly a monas tic s ys tem of education. It is binding on the pupil to become monks after complet ing education. But, both the s ys tems moulded the moral and s piritual pers onality of the s tudents not only by teaching moral ethics but als o trains them to practice thos e ethics .
