Abstract
Patchouli (fogostemon cablin Benth) is one of the essential oil-producing important plants beca11se it has a strategicpotential in the globalfllarket whm oil is useful as afragrancefixativeinperfunles,cosmeticsand aromat herapy ingredients. Related to the above description,thispaper presented about the effimof bioactive charcoal compost (arkoba) on patchouli cultivationon the qualif) of oilrecovery and concentration ofpatchoulialcohol The resultsshowed that the addition of arkoba onpatchouli cultivationprovides a verygood influence on theyieldof essential oils, reach 3 to 4.5%, with a11 average of 4%,whiletheyield of essential oilgrown without the use of arkoba onfy rangesjrotn 2 to 2.3% (average 2%). Further concentration of patchomi alcohol in patchouli oil arkoba usage is 40.01%, whilet hose with out weregivetlarkoba onfy 32.26%.
