THE PROCESS OF ABBREVIATION IN TERMS OF REPRESENTATION OF LINGUISTIC KNOWLEDGE

The article touches upon the problem of interrelation of extralinguistic and linguistic knowledge. Knowledge about language can be represented as part of the world knowledge as language is to be regarded as one of the objects of the reality that can be subjected to categorization and various kinds of analysis. When deal- ing with abbreviations' analysis within these terms one should take into consideration that this kind of analysis calls for the complex approach as several levels of linguistic representation are involved
