Abstract

Introduction: Peripheral arterial disease is the most c ommon condition affecting the arteries of lower extremity. Aims and Objectives  To compare the CD and DSA in diagnosing PVD.  An attempt to define whether CD is an alternative or an adjunct to DSA  Can CD replace DSA in diagnosing PV  To evaluate the abnormali ties of vascular disease with using color Doppler and digital subtraction angiography  To compare the findings color Doppler and digital substraction angiography.  Association of risk factors  Localization of flow obstruction in peripheral vessel  Identificat ion of type and length of stenosis/ occlusion  Grading of stenosis  Evaluation of post occlusive out flow tract Material and Method Study Design: Cross sectional Prospective study. Study Period: September 2015 to Jan 2017. Conclusion: Elderly people are wit h increased risk of peripheral arterial disease. Males are more commonly affected with smoking as the commonest risk factor. The other common risk factors include diabetes and hyperlipidemia. The commonest site of pathology is femoro - popliteal segment. Bas ed on the above findings we in the inference that Color Doppler is an initial investigation of choice in evaluation of peripheral vascular diseases especially in infragenicularpart, and is an adjunct to DSA, but cannot replace it .
