Abstract

Introduction. The article focuses on determining the psychological foundations of the process of forming professional skills as a component of professional competence of future teachers of secondary schools. The main components of these foundations are the conditions, the main ones of which are pedagogical culture and professional activity, readiness of a personality, professional knowledge, the high level of proficiency. The goal of our research is to study the scientific achievements of psychologists concerning the features of forming professional skills of future teachers. Results. The analysis of psychological literature finds the basic foundations of forming professional skills of contemporary school teacher and determines analytical, prognostic, projective and reflexive skills in the structure of professional competence of a teacher. Conclusions. The conducted analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature shows that the problem of development and formation of teachers' professional skills is a burning issue of contemporary psychology of a higher school. Therefore, we determine professional skills, an important component of a specialist's professional competence, as a system of interrelated, conscious, purposeful, mental, intellectual and practical actions, with the help of which a teacher can perform general pedagogical and special subject functions efficiently.
