Abstract
In article the problem of relationship of social philosophy and sociology is considered. The author gives various approaches to definition of a role of these disciplines in social knowledge. Three main interpreta- tions of relationship of social philosophy and sociology are given: the social philosophy is equal to sociology, the social philosophy isn't scientific discipline, the social philosophy is a methodological and theoretical level of sociology. The author adheres to a position that it is necessary creation of the general cross-disciplinary social theory
