Abstract
The article presents a retrospective study of the fundamental influence of energy on social development processes. Taking into account the relationship between the energy gain and the development of society, the feasibility of maintaining the concept of "energy output paradigm" is substantiated and its content is disclosed. The theoretical and methodological analysis of the category of "energy" through the mechanism of transformation of primary energy resources allowed to define the principle of energy production, to find out the determinants of the biological and thermal of energy production. It is substantiated that the new energy production paradigm is a prerequisite for economic growth, and inclusive institutions and financial capital serve as instruments for its dissemination in society.
