Abstract
The article deals with the concept of social activity of students, volunteer activity as the main form of social activity of young people. The study of the parameters and differentiation of the characteristics of social activity and volunteer activity of students of a professional educational organization was carried out. The qualities necessary for students to participate in volunteer movements are defined.
