Sorption of heavy metal ions by the polysaccharide sorbent juice

Sorption of Cu 2+ ions by polysaccharide biosorbent from juice was studied. The equilibrium and kinetic characteristics of the sorption process are determined. The effect of the pH of the aqueous solution of CuSO4 on the sorption of copper ions was studied. The dependence of sorption of metal cations on the acidity of the aqueous phase with a maximum in the pH range of 5-6 has been obtained. It is established that the sorption of metal ions occurs at the anionic sites of the sorbent by the ion exchange mechanism.
