Abstract
The Umayyad dynasty, which had to deal with opposing movements from the time it was established, has also faced domestic disputes in recent times. İbrahim b. Velîd, who was the caliph in the distressed environment where the killing of Velid b. Yezîd just took place, could not find an opportunity to perform any other duties then just fighting against the opponents. In the end, İbrahim b. Velîd was not able to overcome Marwan b. Muhammed and was forced to pledge allegiance to Muhammad after isolating himself. Some Umayyad caliphs have been highly regarded by historians and their periods have been elaborated in detail, while others have not been studied as much and very detailed information about them is given in the books.
