Abstract
The urgency of the necessity of unambiguous definition of concepts, which constitute a categorical basis of the study of the administrative and legal principles of the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of education, is revealed. The scientific approaches to the problem under study are generalized. The main results of the content analysis of the concepts "administrative-legal principles" and "state policy in the field of education" are analyzed. The practice of applying these terms in the domestic legislation is generalized. The necessity of the specified wording of these concepts is substantiated and their content is proposed. The inadmissibility of identifying the concepts of "educational policy" and "state educational policy" is argued. The actual definition of the concept of "administrative and legal principles of formation and implementation of state policy in the field of education" is given.
