Abstract
The article studies the history of urban processes in the South Aral region in the Middle Ages, re- veals their features and characteristics. Here, in the territory of the Khorezm oasis and along the chines of Ustyurt, archeological cultures with characteristic features developed in the Middle Ages. The cultural material of cities has its roots. In addit ion, there are some elements of cultural interaction with neighboring urban centers and the nomadic steppe of the Aral - Caspian Sea.
