Starting off a multimedia venture has always been a herculean task both from technical and business perspectives. Nevertheless, there is a significant potential vis-à-vis return on investment. Not to speak of Bollywood but a number of Hollywood movies are also processed/edited – production and post-production processing – in India involving lot of work and lot of money. Although, the proprietary multimedia software is by no means cheap yet a number of opensource alternatives available have features rich enough to carve a niche on software entrepreneurial scene in India.
