Abstract
The article deals with the main legal problems which appear in connection with giving immunity to state officials from criminal jurisdiction. The concept of immunity of senior state officials in international law is reviewed. The jurisprudence of the International Court of Justice and doctrinal sources are analyzed. The issue of differentiation of immunity ratione personae from immunity ratione materiae is considered. Also the article examines the problems of bringing senior state officials with immunity to international criminal justice.
