Abstract
The analysis of scientific literature and the problems, which hinder the development of vocational education, are outlined. The essence of concepts of «development», «strategy», «strategy of development», «strategic planning» is determined. The approaches to development of the strategy of development of the institution of vocational education are analyzed. The structure of the strategy for the development of the institution of vocational education is proposed. The steps of strategic planning are defined.
