BOLSHEVIK PROPAGANDA INSTRUMENTS AT THE TIME OF COMMUNIZATION OF UKRAINIAN VILLAGE (1919)

Abstract

The article highlights the specificity of Bolshevik propaganda during the first attempt to communize Ukrainian village in 1919. Printed and oral forms and in-struments used in the work of agitprop were described: distribution of press, literature, brochures, leaflets, functioning of village reading rooms, propaganda trains performances, holding mass events and running ideological campaigns. The main focus areas of propaganda were analyzed: assistance in the class divide of the village and compromising the national liberation movement. The most frequently used in Bolshevik propaganda theses and political cliches are exemplified. The factors that undermined the effectiveness of Bolshevik propaganda were investigated, and directions of further researches on ideological work in the village were proposed.
