Abstract

Data outsourcing and un-trusted cloud servers are two factors which challenge the security of information in a cloud storage system. To overcome these factors, data access control has been introduced. This is one of most effective ways to ensure data security within a cloud. Now-a-days, users expect direct control on the access policies of a cloud for being doubly sure. Ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CPABE) is a technology which provides the above services and thus is considered to be the best among the lot now. In recent times, several cloud systems ask for a particular set of credentials and attributes for a user to gain access to the data in a cloud. As of now, the only way this can be achieved is by employing a trusted server to store the data and broker access control. This paper, provide a better and wider view on how to deal with third party attacks and we throw light on problems faced in complex access control on encrypted data and how such data can be kept confidential. Further enhancements like implementation of the entities will be discussed further in the project. The main entities, namely: trustee, cloud server, creator, writer and reader are discussed in detail. These entities depend on each other and together increase the security of data in the cloud server and preserves the confidentiality of information.
