INTRAUTERINE FETAL DEATH AFTER MULTIPLE UMBILICAL CORD ABNORMALITIES. CLINICAL CASE

Abstract
Background. To describe clinical case of intrauterine fetal death after multiple umbilical cord anomalies. Case. A 26-year-old gravida 3, nulliparous woman at 39 weeks' gestation was admitted to hospital after she had noticed reduced fetal movements. Intrauterine fetal death was diagnosed on ultrasound. The pathologic examination revealed long umbilical cord with torsion and constrictions that was not diagnosed on ultrasound. Conclusion. Umbilical cord torsion and constrictions that leads to intrauterine fetal death is extremely rare. A pregnancy with multiple umbilical cord anomalies may need fetal monitoring during the third trimester.
