Abstract
This paper presents space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) algorithm for vector controlled induction motor drives for reduced common mode voltage variations. Scalar control approach is simple but the system is easily prone to instability due to the inherent coupling effect of torque and flux. To get fast transient response and high torque capability vector control approach is applicable. To validate the proposed SVPWM algorithm, numerical simulation studies have been carried out on vector controlled induction motor drive and the results are presented. The simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed PWM algorithms.
