GREEK AND THE GREEK CYPRIOTS’ EMERGENT TERRORIZING ORGANIZATION EOKA AFTER THE PRESENTED THE CYPRUS ISSUE TO THE UNITED NATIONS’ AGENDA

Abstract

The Cyprus Issue was first offically presented to the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly in 1954 by Greece, and more of the Greek Cypriots intense efforts. Greek Cypriots' Orthodox Church's plebiscite for Enosis in 1950 which means “self determination” was proffered to the UN's General Secretary. However, earlier, those requests were repeated by Greece in 1951, 1952, and 1953. In this periods, The Great Britain was strongly opposed to this situation, and also took along the Turkey. As for Greece, and the Greek Cypriots both wanted to achive Enosis which means annexion to the Cyrpus to Greece according to Megali İdea also means that occupy Cyprus. That's why they set up a terrorizing organization were called EOKA. In response to this situation, Turkey set up Turkish Strength Organization (TMT) agints the EOKA in there years later. In this study, we will try to explain that how Greece's terrorizing activities started after the Cyrus issue presented to the UN.
