THE MEDIA FREEDOM AND THE PROTECTION OF MORALS

Freedom of the press has widening reflection from press to media in daily life. So instead of using the term of the press, the term of the media has been preferred. By this kind of usage, “morals” as a restriction of the media freedom with all different aspects can be laid bare. To achieve this, first of all existing legal situation in United States of America (USA) and guide lines judged by Supreme Court of the USA have been dealt. Secondly European Court of Human Rights (ECHR)'s decisions which focus on “morals” as a restriction of the media freedom have been considered. Lastly regulations in our country and morality from various angles in practice have been issued.
