THE IMAGE OF PENITENTIARY SYSTEM IN THE ELECTRONIC MASS MEDIA

The article identifies the main trends in assessing the image of this social institution on the basis of the aspect analysis of publications on the penitentiary system in the electronic media. The penitentiary system is highlighted mainly in the aspect of its social problems, it is not given sufficient attention to its positive role in ensuring public security. The selection of factual material, the inclusion of evaluative statements of officials, public figures can be attributed to the main ways of expressing the evaluative attitude.
