Abstract
The actual problem of typification of natural foci of tularemia on a landscape-biocenotic basis is considered in the article. The analysis of the focality of tularemia infection in the West Asia and Transcaucasia is given. The main source of the causative agent of this disease is recognized as an ordinary voles – as a background species of the rodent of the studied region. This makes it possible to isolate a new type of natural foci of tularemia, known as mountain-steppe, for science.
