Abstract
Literate means having the spoken and written; understood as social and cultural activity and cognitive achievement. The child does not literate from one day to the other. A main idea of literacy is that reading and writing are ways to build, interpret and communicate meanings. Literate means having a real social tool human communication. Therefore, the teaching organize teaching sequences that propose to read and write fit to different intentions from the first years of schooling, facilitate learners, while allowing them to develop their language and communication skill. Future integration into the community of readers and writes. Language functions, allowing pragmatic use and build new knowledge.
