Abstract

Children's games are part of the life of every child, whether at school or at home. From this type of activity, the child has numerous possibilities, such as working with rules, even un consciously, use your creativity to create different situations. An example is the spontaneous make-believe, where the child has the opportunity to be who she wants, or even modify the real meaning of a given object, turning it into another according to your wish.Through play, the child externalizes what she internalized their culture, to represent the world in which he lives.This study aims to discuss the importance of play for cognitive development and language of the child, taking into account the social environment in which they live. Where, through a literature review will analyze the conception of different authors,that address this issue and show that the act of playing should be part of childhood, to the benefit of the constant development of the child.
