Abstract
The education of students with hearing disorders must be understood from the perspective of diversity. That is why they require an education according to their characteristics and needings, within the principles, purposes and resources that the educational system provides to the rest of the students. Each student is defined as a unique and different individual, characterized by their potential, abilities and difficulties, it is therefore essential to identify their specific educational support needings, which will condition their teaching-learning process. In order to successfully perform our functions as specialists in hearing and language, it is necessary to have a thorough knowledge of hearing impairment and what derives from it. Only after this analysis will the professional be able to determine the needs of these students.
