Abstract
This study is a cut of the master's research, together with the Benguela penitentiary, considering the number / frequency with which they returned to prison, thus, if we tried to know more about the effects of re-education the implementations to prisoners of the Benguela Angola penitentiary, change in unwanted behaviors. The purpose of this study was to analyze the causes of recidivism of prisoners in Benguela penitentiary, the hypothesis supposed to be the cause of family disintegration, socioeconomic situation embodied in poor values education, unemployment as a preponderant factor to inappropriate behavior. For this purpose, the quantitative and qualitative approach of the descriptive type was used for the collection of the data, the questionnaire to the recidivist and recidivist inmates, an interview guide to the director of the prison and an observation guide for the re-education sessions of the inmates. The frequency of imprisonment is due to excessive consumption of drugs, unemployment and ineffective reeducation methods
