Emergency and emergency care by a hospital of medium complexity: Integrative review

The objective of the study was to highlight the urgency and emergency care provided by a hospital of medium complexity. This was an integrative review research, published in the last five years. The results were: hospital of medium complexity are doors of entry to the health system, through the attendance performed in the emergency and emergency, however, there is a greater search for this type of care in tertiary establishments, resulting in an overload of greater complexity in these services. Hospitalization is one of the strategies of hospital care of medium complexity, which provides a change in the organization of the work process. There is a high number of judicialization regarding medium complexity and clinical procedures. Few publications focusing on emergency and emergency care provided by a hospital of medium complexity. This is an important gap identified by this research.
