Abstract
Variations of activity of coastal cryogenic process and formation of morphological types of coast (thermal abrasion, thermal denudation, etc.) in east Arctic seas of Russia in XX and the beginning of the XXI centuries are caused by climatic changes in the Arctic. In this regard the major role is played by mean air temperature in summer-autumnal time (during a defrosting season, from July to September). At its deviations from climate normal (anomalies) less than 1 C the thermal denudation plays the main role in coast formation. At air temperature anomaly of 1C and above the coast dynamics significantly becomes more active, thermal abrasion process prevails, as a result of which steep cliffs are formed.
