Biyo-Ahlak ve Sağlıklı Yaşam Dayatması “Sağlık Hastalığı: Güncel Bir Sendrom” Kitabı Üzerine Bir Değerlendirme/Bio-Ethic and Healthy Life Impose: An Assesment on the Book of ‘The Wellness Syndrome

Bu çalışma, Carl Cedeström ve André Spicer tarafından kaleme alınan “Sağlık Hastalığı: Güncel Bir Sendrom” adlı kitaba odaklanmaktadır. Yapı Kredi Yayınları tarafından 2017 yılında yayımlanan kitap, içinde yaşadığımız çağın güncel sağlık sorunlarını piyasa ekonomisi, popüler kültür ve ideoloji bağlamında ele almaktadır. İnsan bedeni, piyasa ekonomisinin çalışma koşulları içerisinde daha fazla üretken kılınmak istenir. Cedeström ve Spicer, insan bedeninin piyasa ekonomisinin çalışma koşulları içerisinde üretken kılınmasının ideolojik boyutunu sağlıklı yaşam dayatmasıyla açıklarlar. Bu ideolojik dayatma ile birlikte bedeninden verim alınmayan kişiler anormal, sağlıksız ve kötü olarak kodlanırlar. Cedeström ve Spicer bedeni hapishane, tımarhane, klinik gibi kurumlara kapatarak denetleyen ve ıslah etmeye çalışan iktidar ve çağ anlayışından farklı olarak filmlerle, reklamlarla, kişisel gelişim ve mutluluk endüstrisi gibi popüler aygıtlarla denetleyen ve ıslah eden bir çağa geçiş yaptığımızı iddia ederler ve bu durumu biyo-ahlak kavramıyla açıklarlar. Kitap, insan bedeninin piyasa ekonomisinin koşullarına uydurulması ve bu koşullar içerisinde ondan azami verim alınabilmesi için kendisine yapılan dolaylı müdahalelerin ideolojik boyutunu gözler önüne sererek bir beden sosyolojisi okumasını da olanaklı kılmaktadır. / This study focuses on a book titled "Health Disease: A Recent Syndrome" written by Carl Cedeström and Andre Spicer. The book, published by Yapi Kredi Publications in 2017, discusses the current health problems of the age we live in the context of market economy, popular culture and ideology. The body of human is asked to be more productive within the working condition of the market economy. Cedeström and Spicer explain the ideological dimension of the human body being productive within the working conditions of the market economy by imposing a healthy life. With this ideological imposing, persons who do not yield from the body are encoded as abnormal, unhealthy and bad. Unlike the ruling and age mentality, which controls and rehabilitates the body by shutting it down to institutions such as prisons, asylum, clinics, Cedeström and Spicer claim that we are controlled with popular devices such as films, advertisements, personal growth and happiness industries and we are transitioning to a breeding age, and they explain this situation with the concept of bio-morality. The book also reveals the ideological dimension of the indirect interventions carried out by the human body in order to adapt to the conditions of the market economy and to obtain maximum efficiency in these conditions, and to read a sociology of the body. /
