Abstract

The research objective is studying the effect of magneto-infrared laser therapy on clinical scores and the state of immunologic reactivity in children with chronic pyelonephritis. Material and methods. The study included 130 children aged 8–12 with a relapsing course of chronic pyelonephritis (CP). The first group of patients with CP (43 patients) received a complex conventional therapy, the second group of patients with CP (27 patients) received complex treatment in combination with magneto-infrared laser therapy. We studied clinical score of patients, investigated the content of populations and subpopulations of lymphocytes in the blood, immunoglobulins and circulating immune complexes in the blood serum, phagocytosis, cytokine content in serum blood in the active stage of the disease, in the stages of partial and complete clinical and laboratory remission. Results. In the first group of patients with CP, who received complex conventional therapy, the complete, but short-term clinical and laboratory remission occurred, during which frank changes in parameters of immunologic reactivity remained. In the second group of patients with CP, who received complex treatment in combination with magneto-infrared laser therapy, the onset of prolonged complete clinical and laboratory remission and normalization of indicators of immunologic reactivity was observed.
