Abstract

The current study was designed to determine the antioxidant effect of vitamin. E against oxidative stress induced by Cyclophosphamide (Cp) drug in some Hematological parameters and Mitotic index. The study was conducted in animal house of Faculty of science / University of Kufa for the period from October / 2016 to March / 2017 on 40 animals of male rats aged (2.5 – 3) months and the weight of (200 – 210) mg. The results of Hematological Parameters show significant decrease (P<0.05) in PCV of all groups of rats treated with Cyclophosphamide only in compare with control group, no significant difference(P ˃ 0.05) in Hb in rats groups treated with Cyclophosphamide (5,10) mg/kg for (30 ,20) days respectively in compare with control group, significant decrease (P<0.05) in group rats treated with Cyclophosphamide20 mg/kg for 10 days in compare control group ,no significant difference (P ˃ 0.05) in WBCs in rats treated with Cyclophosphamide only 5 mg/kg for 30 days in compare with control group, significant decrease (P<0.05) in WBCs in groups (10,20) mg/kg for ( 20, 10) in compare with control group,no significant difference (P ˃0.05) in PCV and Hb in rats all groups treated with Cyclophosphamide + vitamin E in compare with control group, no significant difference (P ˃ 0.05) in WBCs of rats treated with Cyclophosphamide + vitamin E in group rats treated with Cyclophosphamide 5mg/kg for 30 days from study ,significant decrease (P<0.05) in WBCs of rats treated with Cyclophosphamide + vitamin E in groups (10, 20)mg/kg for (20, 10)days respectively in compare with control group. This study also show significant decrease (P<0.05) in Mitotic Index (MI) for all groups of rats treated with Cyclophosphamide drug only in compare with control group, also study show no significant difference( P > 0.05) in MI for rats treated with Cyclophosphamide + vitamin E (5,10) mg/kg for (30, 20) days respectively in compare with control group , while show significant decrease (P<0.05)in MI in group rats with Cyclophosphamide + vitamin E 20 mg/kg for 10 days in compare with control group.
