Abstract
The article examines the artistic reinterpretation of the national history in V. Sosiura’s poem "Mazeppa". The author draws parallels between the historical events of Hetman Mazepa’s epoch and events of liberation struggle in Ukraine in the 20-s of the twentieth century, in which the author of the poem participated.
