Abstract
The parameters like voltage, current and welding speed play an important role in effecting the spikes when the welding is done and the spiking is reduced by varying it. When the electron beam welding is done on a partial penetration, parameter change that lessens the power density of the beam reduces spiking giving smoother root. But when the power density increases the depth of penetration increases spiking occurs, also irregular root occurs. Here in the present study, the tendency of spiking in ETP copper plates have been studied by using various parameters such as voltage, current and welding speed. Therefore, here we are using the method developed which decides the spiking inclination for a predetermined material for a set of weld parameters is depicted.
