Abstract

This work is devoted to the study of the semantic characteristics of Chinese personal names in the diachronic aspect, the influence of historical events on the anthroponymy of China. Chinese names can be divid- ed into two categories: formed before the formation of the PRC and after the formation. Therefore, the period 50–60 years of XX century is important in the history of the development of Chinese anthroponymy. In this arti- cle, the authors attempt to classify Chinese personal names by lexical-semantic groups in order to identify the most important category for the specified historical period. In total, 50 anthroponymic units were analyzed – the personal names of people born in the 1950s and 1960s. last century. In the 50–60 years. The twentieth century was met by the largest number of names contained in the semantic field of patriotism. The peculiarity of this category of classification is due to the fact that in the period of the formation of New China, many parents, ex- pressing their love for their homeland, gave children names in which they praised the ideas of patriotism, the wishes of their country of prosperity and peace
