Abstract
This article attempted to determine the social role of men in Korean society. The study was conducted on the material of Korean proverbs with the component "man" from the collection of Korean proverbs Lim Soo "Golden words of the Korean people." As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that in Korean society, men are attributed to several social roles: husband, head of the family, breadwinner, owner of the wife, father, continuer of the clan and family traditions.
