Abstract
The quality and longevity of the mechanical equipment much depends on the quality of the welds, especially the welds between the layers of different material types, which often exhibit the stresses of welding before heat treatment, uneven microstructure with segregation and micro-segregation. Certainly, such microstructure will affect the mechanical part quality in the working process, especially the mechanical parts working in long-term conditions, heavy or changed load. The heat treatment is considered as the simplest method applying to after-welding treatment. This paper presents the calculation, design and fabrication of a small-scale heat treatment furnace to improve the mechanical properties and microstructure of the welds.
