Abstract
The world has changed and now it is all global value chains, which makes the world function. Adding value to the supply chains is what going to be the new mantra of business. India's participation in Global value chains (GVCs) is fairly well integrated. Given that 41% of its exports are intermediate goods used in further production. Trade in India make up to over 40% of GDP; this is a good indicator of the importance of GVCs in India. From manufacturing, automobiles, agribusiness to satellites and ship manufacturing companies are thinking ways to enhance their supply chain by adding value to it and integrate themselves to the global markets. This paper analyses the scenario of global value chains and its significance in conducting sustainable trades in a competitive environment.
