Abstract
In work the conditions of longitudinal stability of a strip in the center of deformation are analyzed. In assessing stability, proceeded from the definition of the average resultant longitudinal forces of a plastically deformable metal. It is shown that this force can be determined by solving the differential equation of T. Karman with allowance for the plasticity condition. Considered an example of the theoretical determination of the longitudinal stability of a strip in rolling rolls is considered when the contact conditions in the deformation zone change. The results of the calculation are confirmed by experimental data.
