Humanistic Approach as the Integrating Factor of Library and Information Services

The article explains the complementarity and mutual influence of traditional and innovative library services, defines the integrating component of traditional and innovative trends in library services. The attention is focused on the transformation of traditional forms of service to innovation, their coexistence and the introduction of new types of library information activities adapted to the network electronic environment. A model of library and information services with user as a central element and the integrating component of systems of traditional and innovative library services is presented.
