Abstract

Recently librarianship has undergone significant changes caused be wide-spreaded using of computers, digital systems and the Internet. New technologies simplify the processes of transmitting the request, receiving and delivering information. However, with increasing use of electronic resources, the attendance of libraries decreases. This forces librarians to seek innovative service approaches and prompts the provision of services by methods that are user-friendly. Most of the new services introduced in the library service over the past few years have been linked to the use of Web 2.0 technologies. Web 2.0 feature is attracting users to content and to reuse content. This means the creation of Internet-based Web-based platforms, the success of which depends on how users engage in their content content. In turn, librarians seek to actively use Web 2.0 capabilities in their everyday practices and look for innovative ways of delivering services in line with changes in the cultural model of the behavior of a new generation of users. Today, the main areas of implementation of web technologies in library institutions are: the creation of information sites and portals, virtual reference services, the optimization of electronic catalogs, the establishment of open access repositories, the use of web-oriented automated library information systems.
