Mobile Applications as a Means of Communicating in a Knowledge Society: an Educational Aspect

The article investigates the influence of individual mobile devices on the maintenance of educational information resources. It also identifies opportunities for expanding educational services with their help. The role and development of mobile applications as one of the modern means of communication in the knowledge society are studied. The peculiarities and specifics of using mobile applications as a perspective and effective tool for the dissemination of educational information resources, as well as in popularization of scientific, educational and self-education processes throughout the whole society are analyzed. The article provides valuable information on the use of mobile technologies to meet the educational and self-education needs of citizens. The mobile applications of higher education institutions, which help to popularize educational processes, increase the level of communication between the institution and students, are studied in detail.
