Usage of Information and Communication Technologies in the Modern Library

The article deals with the main stages of the development of information and communication technologies in the librarian activity. The present state of the usage of information and communication technologies in the activity of libraries, in particular, the Bavarian State Library as one of the world’s largest scientific libraries, is studied. The most important projects of Bavarian State Library, like «Virtual library of Bavaria» and portal Gateway Bavaria are described.
