New religious movements in Russia at a boundary of 80-90 years of the XX century, actively using the institutional and financial capacity, broadened the sphere of their influence significantly, having achieved the presence in many leading areas of public life of the country. It is claimed that they succeeded to strengthen their position and to get the support from a number of public organizations thanks to various methods of creation of their own positive image and at the same time thanks to the discredit of sources of negative information about their activity
