Abstract
The wide range of issues connected to the architecture of rural stave churches of the Southern Urals is considered in the article. It is revealed an interesting range of the region heritage. The extensive materials of outdoor investigations of the monuments are given. On the basis of these materials the features and characteristics of art, plan solution, decor of wooden religious buildings of the region of the second half of XIX ? the beginning of XX century are considered. The preferences of paymasters of the church architecture in the context of the church stylistics and the work of the most potential and active masters of construction are analyzed.
