Abstract
It is important to know the effects of the technological habits of pre-school students on their development characteristics and to determine the views of their parents on this issue due to the fact that there are few studies on this field. For this purpose, it is thought that this research will contribute to the field literature by determining the views of the parents about the subject, and by guiding them and the related education partners. In this study, a case study pattern which is one of the qualitative research models was used. The study group of the research consisted of 40 voluntary parents whose children were students in a practice nursery of a vocational and technical Anatolian high school in Yakutiye in the province of Erzurum and they were chosen by easy-to-reach sampling methods and easily accessible sampling method. Semi-structured interview form was used as data collection tool. While preparing the interview form, the literature of the field was reviewed and the opinions of the academicians who were specialized in the field of pre-school education were consulted. In the analysis of data, content analysis and descriptive analysis techniques were used together. According to the results obtained from the analysis of data; we identified how much time the parents gave their children to use the technological devices and what activities were involved in this process, and how this process affected their children's physical, social, cognitive, linguistic and emotional development.
