Pharmacoeconomic Analysis of Medicines Consumption in the Multisectoral Hospital

The article examines the results of complex pharmacoeconomic study of antibacterial therapy rationality in a multisectoral hospital. In the current difficult financial environment of the hospital, measures were taken to optimize spending on medicinal products in the twenty-four-hour departments, in particular on consumption of germicides as one of the most significant parts of medicines expenses. The authors made an item-by-item analysis of expenses in three most cost-intensive departments and, following on from the results of the АВС-analysis, they developed a strategy and a plan of measures of expenses optimisation on antibacterial preparations.
